Methodology
How Zale India Sports assessments work
Our sports-talent discovery days use simple, child-friendly physical tests and age-based benchmarks to build a clear profile of each child’s strengths. We then suggest sports that match those strengths — so children can enjoy, improve and stay active for the long term.
Core abilities we measure
We focus on abilities that strongly influence success, safety and enjoyment in different sports. Every test is designed to feel like a game, so children participate happily.
Speed
Measured with short sprints (20–30 meters). Helps identify quick acceleration for athletics, football, hockey and team sports.
Endurance
Assessed through paced runs or shuttle runs. Shows how long a child can sustain activity — key for long-distance and field games.
Strength & Power
Long jumps, vertical jumps or medicine ball throws measure explosive power needed for jumps, throws and strength sports.
Agility
Zig-zag, T-drills or cone drills show ability to change direction quickly with control — essential in field/court sports.
Balance
One-leg stance and movement balance tasks indicate readiness for gymnastics, skating and martial arts.
Coordination
Hand-eye and foot-eye tasks (throw/catch, target kicking) show suitability for ball games and racket sports.
Flexibility
Reach tests reveal range of motion in joints, supporting movement efficiency and reducing injury risk.
Reaction time
Reaction-to-signal tests reveal how quickly a child responds to cues — vital in fast-paced sports.
Movement quality
We observe posture, stride and movement style to offer feedback for safer and more efficient motion.
